CaddyBytes ⛳ 2026 FedEx St. Jude Championship Final Round Highlights: Scottie Scheffler turned a two-stroke overnight lead into an eight-shot victory Sunday at TPC Southwind, closing with a 4-under-par 66 to finish at 17-under 263. On the hottest day of the week in Memphis, with the heat index already above 100 early in the round, Scheffler separated himself from every challenger and ran away with the opening event of the FedExCup Playoffs. The final round included one of the strangest breaks of the tournament when Scheffler's high, soft approach struck a sprinkler head and shot into the water. The cruel bounce led to a double bogey on the par 5, but it never changed the outcome. Scheffler immediately returned to the precise iron play and controlled putting that had carried him to the lead, steadily rebuilding his margin as the chasing group moved in the wrong direction. Scheffler poured in a curling birdie putt during the middle of the round, continued firing approaches directly at demanding hole locations and narrowly missed another birdie at the 17th. His final approach at 18 finished close to the hole, providing a fitting final exclamation point to a dominant week. Rounds of 68, 61, 68 and 66 left him eight clear of the field. Si Woo Kim produced the best finish among the challengers, shooting 68 to claim solo second at 9-under 271. Sam Burns, who began the day only two strokes behind Scheffler, struggled to a 73 and fell into a tie for third with Alex Noren at 8-under. Noren closed with a 69 to secure his share of third. Wyndham Clark shot 68 and tied Sungjae Im for fifth at 7-under, while Im slipped back with a final-round 74. Ludvig Åberg and Xander Schauffele each posted 67 to climb into the five-player tie for seventh at 6-under with Tommy Fleetwood, Jake Knapp and Hideki Matsuyama. With the temperature, pressure and playoff consequences all rising on Sunday, Scheffler delivered the week's most complete closing performance. Even a double bogey caused by a wildly unlucky bounce could not open the door, and his late procession through TPC Southwind ended with another emphatic victory.
